From Kulaifornia to California - Madame Tussauds Hollywood : Episode 1

Salam...

Madame Tussauds Hollywood is located opposite to the hotel we resided. Well-renown for displaying its wax work of sports persons, film stars and famous icons; I got the opportunity to experience it.
...the entrance.
...Brad and Angelina were there.
...spotted Mr. Snoop but not in my interest as I am more into N.W.A., Public Enemy and Ice-T.
...we requested Mr. Spielberg for a screen test but failed.
...he offered us jobs at Stark Industries...but we rejected.
...listening to some advice from my favourite Marlon "the Godfather" Brando.
...and one shot for the record.
As for the case, I got to know that Madame Tussaud will open its museum in Jakarta which will be the biggest in Southeast Asia somewhere middle of 2012 and I wonder why not in our country. Even Bangkok has one and I am still wondering why Jakarta was chosen over us.

See ya in the next episode... :-)

From Kulaifornia To California - The J. Paul Getty Museum

Salam...

To be frank, I am not the type of guy who fancies going to museum but during my trip there I experienced going to one known as The Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades by the Malibu beach.

I got to know that the museum keeps more than 44,000 Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities dating from 6,500 BC to 400 AD, including the Lansdowne Heracles and the Victorious Youth. As I was not really into those artifacts or whatsoever, I was rather fascinated with the surroundings then. :-)
...the entrance.
...inside the museum.
...and one for the record.
...a few of the many antiquities.
...the central courtyard.
...part of the main courtyard.
...the garden.
...then, we had salmon for lunch with the view of the Pacific Ocean. :-)
As for the case, I had my lunch by the Pacific Ocean together with my partner in crime with no kids around (my kids gonna kill me I guess...) was one of the best moment. Hell yeah!!!

From Kulaifornia to California - Universal Studio Hollywood : Episode 3

Salam...

I guess the signature attraction of Universal Studio Hollywood is the Studio Tour. It is here where films such as Jaws, War of the Worlds, The Italian Job, Transformers and Mission Impossible III to name a few were shot.
...the Studio Tour.
...the set. By the way, could find Warner Brothers in the picture? ;-)

...it was an hour tour with a live tour guide on a tram.
...look carefully and you will realize that it is this house Desperate Housewife was filmed.
...the razor sharp teeth beast.
...War of the Worlds set.
...amazingly what we saw on the silver screen or television was actually produced in this many studios.
...and of course...one shot for the record.
All in all the tour was a memorable experience and a special shout-out to those film makers for transforming imagination into reality. Hell yeah!!!

From Kulaifornia to California - Universal Studio Hollywood : Episode 2

Salam...

Once we passed through the entrance, the first thing we experienced was that vintage New York City set.
It was like the building we used to see on television.
...another shot for the record.
...those two guys will talk to all passersby in a New Yorkers accent or dialect I guess.
...a classic New York City taxi.
I wonder how it would feel to be in the "Big Apple" if it is for real.

See ya in the next episode. :-)

One of the many attractions in Hollywood is the Universal Studio with its marketing headline "The Entertainment Capital of Los Angeles" and this too is the first of the many studios theme park around the world.
...have yet been to the one in Singapore but who needs that by the way. :-)

...and this is the original.
...the main entrance.

...the guy on the right is a real life man. Trust me...

...because I was there. Ha..ha..ha..

From Kulaifornia to California - The Kodak Theatre

Salam...

Next to the Grauman's Chinese Theatre is the well-renown Kodak Theatre. It is here where the annual Academy Award better known as the Oscars held each year since 2002.
...the front and the main.
...the inside.
All of the Oscar's "Best Picture" on the many pillars of the theatre.
...with a photo of Clark "King Of Hollywood" Gable.
Leading to Eastman Kodak filed for bankruptcy protection recently, its sponsorship of the theatre had ended. The theatre's name had been changed to Hollywood and Highland Center eventually.

As for the case, I was there and the rest is history...

“The things a man has to have are hope and confidence in himself against odds, and sometimes he needs somebody, his pal or his mother or his wife or God, to give him that confidence.
He's got to have some inner standards worth fighting for or there won't be any way to bring him into conflict.
And he must be ready to choose death before dishonor without making too much song and dance about it.
That's all there is to it.”

From Kulaifornia to California - Hand And Foot Prints Of Grauman's Chinese Theatre

Salam...

Of all, the hand and foot print at the forecourt of the Grauman's Chinese Theatre is a must to go.
John Wayne the cowboy hero and John Travolta the "you know who".
Amongst the many, here are the few special ones.
That "My Way" guy... Sinatra.
...... those guys of Twilight.
...... of Daniel Radcliffe's.
...... it is MJ's.
My all time favourite... Mr. Clark Gable.

I got to know that there are as many as 200 hand and foot prints here and and as for the case, it reminded me of certain moments in my life whenever I came across to a person's name whom I know. Nicekan? :-)
